Water Balance Consulting collaborated with the American Museum of Natural History’s Center for Biodiversity and Conservation to develop an interactive educational tool that allows educators and students to learn about the challenges of managing the Colorado River. The tool walks students through six units to develop an understanding of the river, including a historical overview, hydrology, climate change, economics, native ecosystems and water conservation. Simulation examples were integrated throughout the exercise to emphasize the trade-offs that managers must face when making critical decisions.
